Radiation Protection in Industrial Radiography

Practical radiation safety training for NDT radiographers, supervisors and HSE personnel.

Participants will learn controlled area establishment, source handling procedures, dose rate calculations, personal dosimetry, and the regulatory requirements governing radiographic operations in Qatar and Oman.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the physics and biology of gamma and X radiation relevant to radiographic operations
  • Calculate dose rates and establish compliant controlled areas for field and workshop radiography
  • Handle radiographic sources and equipment safely using correct procedures
  • Implement ALARA controls: time, distance, shielding and access management
  • Maintain personal dosimetry records for radiographic crews
  • Apply emergency procedures for source disconnection, jamming and loss
  • Comply with Qatar and applicable IAEA radiographic safety requirements

Who Should Attend

NDT Radiographers
Radiography Supervisors
HSE Officers
QA/QC Personnel
Site Managers (where radiography is performed)

Course Outline
